New York Polish Film Festival
May 9-13
In just three years since its was introduced, The New York
Polish Film Festival (www.nypff.com)
has become one of the most important platforms for Polish cinema in the United
States. The Festival’s goal is to present and promote contemporary Polish
cinema, to show retrospectives of the best achievements of Polish filmmaking,
and works by students of the famous film schools in Poland. It is the only annual
event devoted to Polish films in New York City. The Kosciuszko Foundation is
proud to be a major sponsor of the Festival. Members of the Foundation are also
invited to purchase tickets at a discounted (student) rate of $10 for ordinary

Polish Virtuoso Krystian Tkaczewski

Polish
virtuoso Krystian Tkaczewski is the featured soloist in Chopin’s Piano
Concerto No. 2 in F minor on Sunday, May 20 at 3 PM at the Kosciuszko Foundation.
He will be accompanied by the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, under the
direction of Adrian Sylveen. The program also features Bach’s Concerto
for Two Violins (with soloists Brunilda Myftaraj and Adrian Sylveen),
and Wolf-Ferrari’s lyrical Serenade for Strings. This is the
final concert of the 2006-2007 Chamber Music Series; it will be broadcast
on WQXR 96.3 FM on Sunday, May 27 at 6 PM. The radio broadcast is made
