Remembering Milosz
Thursday, November 4 at 7 PM
Czeslaw Milosz, Nobel Laureate and Honorary Trustee of the Kosciuszko Foundation,
will be remembered in a program of documentaries and readings on Thursday, November
4, beginning at 7 PM. The evening is being coordinated
by Anna Frajlich Zajac, Columbia University. Contribution is requested.
Warsaw Rising
November 11 at 7 PM
In June 2004, CNN aired "Warsaw Rising," the
first major media documentary about the tragic 1944 revolt of Polish
civilians against their Nazi occupiers. The broadcast detailed the 63
days of fighting that left 200,000 citizens dead and Warsaw awaiting

Verdehr Trio
November 21 at 3 PM
Chamber Music Series
An acknowledged leader in the field of new music, the Verdehr Trio for
over thirty years has concentrated on molding and defining the personality
of the violin-clarinet-piano trio. Over the years, the Trio has created
a large repertoire by commissioning over 160 new works. Their Kosciuszko
Foundation program includes the American premiere of Eugeniusz Knapik's
Trio for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano, commissioned for the Verdehr ensemble
by the Warsaw Autumn Festival. Information at www.verdehr.com.
