Director of Cultural Affairs Members Day! All members and their families are cordially invited to the Foundation House on Sunday, October 17. Beginning at 3 PM, the afternoon will feature a welcome by President and Executive Director Joseph E. Gore; performances by our "Chopin All-Stars," laureates of recent Chopin Piano Competitions; an Award Ceremony honoring scholarship recipients and grantees; and a reception for all. This has become a very popular event, and you are asked to call the Office to confirm your attendance and reserve seats. No tickets are required, but a contribution is requested. 2 x Skowron Art Exhibition Janusz and Arthur Skowron, father and son, were born in Poland and are currently living and working in New York. Janusz studied at the Lublin University, graduating with a master degree in lithography. He has exhibited his art in numerous individual and group exhibitions and curated shows in Poland, France, Germany, and Hungary as well as the United States. His son Arthur studied at New York's High School of Art and Design, graduating as valedictorian of art. He has displayed his work in over a dozen shows. He is currently finishing his studies at Queens College. Both artists are members of the “Emotionalist Art Group”. …Janusz’s art screams, shouts, whispers feelings and moods of the moment- from anger, pain, and ecstasy to serenity, joy, and intellectual reflection. Each of his work is done in one session; he never goes back to the “mood of moment.” He says,” It wouldn’t be genuine, you cannot feel exact emotions twice.” - Alicja Altenberger, 2003 “… Arthur’s work stands out with daring expression. His sense of color is outstanding, and his drawing technique could easily be the envy of many artists.” - Lubomir Tomaszewski All events take place at the Foundation House, unless otherwise noted. Programs subject to change. Click here for directions. Kosciuszko Foundation programs are supported by the Mary F. Koons Charitable Trust, the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), the Tadeusz Solowij Literary Fund, and the KF Cultural Fund.
