New York Polish Film Festival
May 9-13
In just three years since its was introduced, The New York
Polish Film Festival (www.nypff.com) has become one of the most important platforms
for Polish cinema in the United States. The Festival’s goal is to present
and promote contemporary Polish cinema, to show retrospectives of the best
achievements of Polish filmmaking, and works by students of the famous film
schools in Poland. It is the only annual event devoted to Polish films in New
York City. The Kosciuszko Foundation is proud to be a major sponsor of the
Festival. Members of the Foundation are also invited to purchase tickets at
a discounted (student) rate of $10 for ordinary screenings. Please present
your KF membership card at the Box Office.

The third edition of the festival
will present the best new works by young and well-known directors,
Polish cinema classics, and short films made by aspiring film students,
as well as documentaries and animation shorts. There will also
be screenings of The Rape of Europa, directed by Richard Berge,
Nicole Newham and Bonnie Cohen (sponsored by The Kościuszko Foundation) and Copying
Beethoven – by Agnieszka Holland
