The Kosciuszko Foundation's Tomaszkiewicz-Florio Scholarships have been awarded to Polish American student since 1995. Each year the Foundation offers a number of scholarships to qualified applicants to attend Polish language courses at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The scholarship covers the cost of program fees of a 3-week session ($1,520) and is paid directly to the Jagiellonian University on behalf of the student. Scholarship applicants may apply for longer sessions.
Program fees include the cost of tuition, language text books, a double occupancy room in the student dormitory, breakfast, dinner, and complementary programs.
The scholarship does not cover the cost of lunches, single rooms, registration fees, scholarship application fees, medical insurance, extra nights, spending money and travel expenses.
Tomaszkiewicz-Florio Scholarship applicants must meet KF Summer Study Abroad eligibility requirements - see Eligibility. In addition, the candidate must be a full-time high school senior or full-time undergraduate student and be a US citizen of Polish descent or a Polish citizen with permanent residency status in the US and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Kosciuszko Foundation's Chapters in Chicago, IL; Massachusetts; Ohio; Philadelphia,PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Houston, TX; Washington, DC; and Buffalo, NY help the Kosciuszko Foundation in NYC in reviewing Tomaszkiewicz-Florio scholarship applications submitted by students who attend schools and universities in the Chapter's area of jurisdiction.
Students who attend schools and universities outside KF Chapter areas may send their applications directly to the KF Summer Study Abroad Office in New York City.

Scholarship applicants must complete the on-line application which is received by the KF office in NYC and shared with the student's local Chapter. Additionally, candidates must submit supporting materials to Addy@thekf.org with a courtesy copy to (cc:) the KF Chapter nearest the candidate's school / university. Please note: The on-line application form must be completed in one session - the computer program will not allow you to save your answers and continue later . It is suggested that you prepare mandatory documents (signed, completed, scanned and saved) and have them ready before you apply on-line.
Applicants will be informed of scholarship decisions by the Summer Study Abroad Office in NYC via e-mail. Results are usually available in May.
Students who receive scholarship funding will be required to submit the balance of fees (registration, any fees not covered by the scholarship) as well as all mandatory forms (Rules and Regulations, Accommodation, Health Form, passport size photos, passport number, proof of medical insurance).
Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a report to the Kosciuszko Foundation after the program is completed.
Students who are not chosen to receive a scholarship may attend the program as paying students by sending the required fees to the Kosciuszko Foundation. Payment of program fees will be due 2 weeks after scholarship decisions are made.
The Frances E. Wyszynski Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a woman of Polish descent from the Philadelphia area to attend a Kosciuszko Foundation Summer Study Abroad program at the Jagiellonian University. Eligible candidates include women from the greater Philadelphia area and its surroundings who are attending classes on a full-time basis and who are at least 18 years of age. High school seniors and undergraduate student are eligible. The candidate must be a US citizen of Polish descent or a Polish citizen with legal US permanent residency status who has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
