The 2020 TEIP PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOW OPEN!

The Kosciuszko Foundation's Teaching English in Poland Program is NOW recruiting both American teachers and American teaching assistants as volunteers for its 2020 summer programs. Teachers of all subject areas and levels are encouraged to apply. 

Teaching assistants can be college students, retirees, business people, former military, or anyone who has an interest in experiencing living and teaching in Poland. Children under 18 can accompany a family member as a peer tutor for the camp.

All applicants must provide the documents requested on the official application form. You will not be able to save the application and return to it if not completed in one sitting. Allow yourself approximately one hour to complete the application. You will need the following information to complete the form:

  • status of your passport;
  • the current expiration date of the passport;
  • name as it appears on your passport;
  • a recent 2 inch by 2-inch photo of yourself;
  • Kosciuszko Foundation Physician Certificate is needed before final acceptance in the program will be offered.  If you cannot provide a physician certificate at the time of application, please upload a document with the date you anticipate having your physical.  A valid Physician Certificate contains a physician's signature and a stamp from the office containing the legible name and address of the physician who performed the examination.
  • names and addresses of two references- the actual letters must be received prior to the application deadline date of February 1st, 2019. Please send reference letters to:

  • copy of teaching certificate or letter verifying teaching experience if you are applying to be a teacher;
  • sample lesson plan to be uploaded if you are applying to be a teacher; and
  • educational background with dates and institutions.

APPLICATION

Candidates will be called for interviews conducted in person or by telephone with an American staff leader after February 1st, 2019. All applicants will be notified of their status by email once the staff for all the camps has been selected. Only applications with complete information will be considered. This includes Physician form, photo, teaching certificate, and lesson plan, (if applicable), passport status, and reference letters.

UPON ACCEPTANCE

If you are accepted to the TEIP Program you will receive a formal acceptance letter and three attachments from the American staff leader assigned to your camp.

Expectations Regarding American Staff Participation Form

Acceptance Form (Form A) complete, sign, and mail to the Kosciuszko Foundation. Please attach a copy of your flight itinerary to this signed document.) All transportation information must be received by your American staff leader no later than May 15, 2019, because Polish Directors need to reserve transportation. If this information is not received by that date, you will be responsible to get yourself to and from the airport. The American staff leader will notify you of the four- hour window that the bus provided by our Polish hosts will be at the airport. Arrival time in Poland should be made to align with this four-hour window DO NOT E-MAIL.

Expectation Regarding American Staff Participation Form-sign and return via email to your American staff leader.

This form is found in the Curriculum Guide and will be sent to you by your American staff leader.

MAKING AIRLINE RESERVATIONS

Please consult with your American staff leader prior to making airline reservations. He/She will give you a window of time to be at the airport or meet at the hostel ( Zalecze camp only).  Instructions on how to complete your airline reservation will be contained in the acceptance letter. Please be sure to confirm which airport in Poland will serve as the arrival and departure site for your camp. You are expected to make your airline reservation as soon as possible.

TEAM PLANNING

The American staff leader will provide you with his/her contact information, the Curriculum Guide and News You Can Use as they become available.

Orientation, Webinar, and/or team planning sessions will take place after all teachers and teaching assistants have been selected. Participants will be notified of the dates and times of orientation meetings conducted via SKYPE. It is strongly recommended that you make an effort to attend all of the meetings scheduled by your staff leader.
