The Kosciuszko Foundation's Teaching English in Poland Program is looking for American teachers, teaching assistants, and peer tutors who wish to connect with Polish children and teachers during summer in Poland. Teachers of all subject areas and levels are encouraged to apply for the 31st edition of the program!
As a result of our online TEIP experience in 2020, we are now branching out and working with students through two program structures: TEIP Online and TEIP Camps.
TEIP Online will extend throughout June and will enable you to practice your professional teaching skills as well as simply connect with Polish students during their last month at school. The limit of participants in TEIP Online - there is none! We will try to bring all American volunteers together with as many students (both secondary and high school students), and their teachers, as possible. This is a great opportunity to get to know Poland, connect with your Polish roots, and gain some practical, teaching experience. You can apply for the program today!
TEIP Camps, if COVID-19 restrictions allow, will take place between July and August and will bring American volunteers to specific summer camps all over Poland, just as it did during 29 editions, since 1991. Nothing changes here, but since we will be bringing a lot of the staff from last year, the capacity is almost full. We do not know yet if we will be opening the application process this year.
Teaching assistants can be college students, retirees, businessmen and women, former military… Anyone who has an interest in experiencing living and teaching in Poland or getting to know Poland better online is welcome to join the program. Children under 18 can accompany a family member as a peer tutor for the camp, or join their parents/guardians during online classes. The goal of the program is to exchange social and cultural experiences, through expressing both the individuality of the participants and the sense of community they live in. The program is a way to celebrate the differences and similarities between Poland and America - there's no better way to do that than by getting to know Polish students and volunteering with TEIP!
Whether you are looking to find out more about your Polish roots, showing your children what Poland and Europe have to offer, enhancing your teaching skills, exchanging experiences, getting to know new people or simply having fun - TEIP is the perfect choice for you.
